Back in Mumbai after their performance here last month,artistes from Ability Unlimited Foundation (AUF) a Delhi-based non-profit organisation are all set to enthral the audience once again by performing Bharatanatyam and stories from the Bhagwat Gita on wheelchairs. They will present their show Miracle on Wheels as part of the valedictory function of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Shri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts and Sangeetha Sabha,Sion. Slated to take place at the Sabha on July 28,Miracle on Wheels by AUF is an attempt by differently-abled artistes to challenge the notions of disability. Students of Guruji Syed Sallaudin Pasha,a renowned Bharatanatyam and Kathak dancer and founder of AUF,will perform Bharatanatyam,Sufi dance,yoga and contemporary dance on wheelchairs. Pasha has choreographed the sequences which will see the performers spin the wheelchairs at a speed of 150-200 km/hr. AUF has also set a Guinness World Record and been entered in the Limca Book of Records for its wheelchair performances. Presiding over this function will be ESL Narasimhan,the governor of Andhra Pradesh.
