Television’s favourite master chef,Vikas Khanna, will be in Delhi tomorrow for his first book launch in the country. Flavors First takes readers on a culinary journey across India,in an attempt to to be a one-stop resource for the ambitious Indian (ordinary) cook. Chapters include a spices and ingredients glossary, recipes and other helpful tips about Indian cookery — ranging from old favourites such as chicken tikka masala and samosas,to contemporary global degustations such as masala-honey cornish hen, wonton crisps with tamarind chutney and pineapple and chai crème brûlée.

Portraits in Fashion

For seven decades,he photographed some of the most famous and beautiful women in the world, earning a name for himself as one of the greatest fashion photographers that ever lived. Norman Parkinson formally began his career as a photographer in the early ’30s,but established himself in the profession in no time. He took his camera and subjects outdoors, breaking the norm of fashion photography being an indoor affair, and thus paving the way for a method that is almost commonplace today. The ongoing exhibition at ICIA House,Kala Ghoda, titled “Pink is the Navy Blue of India”,showcases some of his most celebrated photographs, shot in India at locations such as Kashmir and Shore temple at Mahabalipuram.
