Portraits in Fashion
For seven decades,he photographed some of the most famous and beautiful women in the world, earning a name for himself as one of the greatest fashion photographers that ever lived. Norman Parkinson formally began his career as a photographer in the early 30s,but established himself in the profession in no time. He took his camera and subjects outdoors, breaking the norm of fashion photography being an indoor affair, and thus paving the way for a method that is almost commonplace today. The ongoing exhibition at ICIA House,Kala Ghoda, titled Pink is the Navy Blue of India, showcases some of his most celebrated photographs, shot in India at locations such as Kashmir and Shore temple at Mahabalipuram.
