Teachers’ training at Ira Global High School

A teachers’ training programme was conducted at Ira Global High School for two weeks. The programme was aimed at familiarising teachers with the Cambridge IGCSE board pattern and how different it is from other boards. It also informed teachers about the subjects that could be offered under this pattern. The focus was to apprise teachers of the assessment and evaluation methods and norms of Cambridge. They attended math and language labs. Practical training was organised on Smart Board and Computer Masti,an ICT software by IIT.

Guest lecture on Chinese cuisine at NCCHM

As a part of the National College of Catering & Hotel Management (NCCHM) curriculum,students are sent abroad for internship,but without knowing the culture and food preferences of foreigners,it is difficult for them to cope. The college organised a guest lecture by Arvind Singh from Dubai,who gave practical training in Chinese cooking,specialised cuisine and spices preferred by foreigners. Such guest lectures are arrange by the college every two months.

NCCHM’s in-field training at Mohili Meadows

To explain the terms hotels and restaurants,the NCCHM organised an industrial visit to Mohili Meadows in Karjat,spread over 25 acres. It has 200 rooms with facilities like restaurants,adventures games and coffee shop. It was a good start for the students,who got a first-hand experience of the actual scenario in the industry.

NCCHM’s industrial visit to Mangalore

NCCHM arranged a seven-day industrial visit to a Mangalore-based firm. Students learned about tourisim and front office management. The college regularly organises such industrial visits for students.

Cambridge International School,Kalyan

The Cambridge International School,Kalyan West,is located in the heart of the city. The school offers IGCSE curriculum to middle-class families in and around Kalyan. The school has a child-friendly environment and five-way methodology for the overall conceptual development of children.

The school held its ‘Curriculum Morning Session’ for parents to introduce them to teaching aids and methods of The Cambridge International School.

Trained teachers from playgroup to Grade V introduced themselves to the parents,giving them an insight into the curriculum and the five-way methodology. The parents were taken through the rules and regulations of the school as well as transport provided by it. They were called upon to extend support for the continuous improved learning process of their children.

The school promises to take up as many new ways and strategies as possible for continuous and improved learning of its students.

Parents had their queries clarified on the spot about the IGCSE curriculum,teh school’s future,transport,administration,etc. The ‘Curriculum Morning Session’ ended with a vote of thanks by the Head of the School.
