The police have booked a band teacher of a school in Kandivali on Tuesday for allegedly molesting a nine-year-old girl during a parade practice session at the school. The police are looking for the accused.

The girl initially did not tell anyone about it, but later confided about it to her parents. The parents approached the school’s higher authority seeking intervention.
The school brought the girl’s parents to the police station where, upon the girl’s 38-year-old father’s complaint the police registered a case under sections 74 (molestation) of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and sections 8 and 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
“We have registered the case and are looking for the accused,” said a police inspector linked to the investigation of the case.
