Republican Party of India (RPI) activists entered the Mantralaya on Wednesday afternoon, demanding transfer of Indu Mill land for the proposed Dr Ambedkar memorial in Dadar.

Over a hundred workers had gathered at the main entrance of the Mantralaya seeking to meet Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and asking him to comply with the promise he made after his meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the transfer of the 12.5-acre land that belongs to the National Textile Corporation. A massive police force was deployed at the spot though many RPI workers managed to make their way to the CM’s office on the sixth floor.

Earlier this month,RPI workers had blocked the road and rail traffic to press their demand.
