Mayor Kishori Pednekar has stoked a controversy after she allegedly posted an offensive tweet from her Twitter handle.
On Wednesday, the Shiv Sena leader had tweeted a news link of her interaction with a channel on vaccine procurement.

Following this, a Twitter user asked Pednekar who was awarded a contract for procurement of vaccine. In reply, the mayor tweeted – “tujha bapala (to your father)”. Later, she deleted the tweet.

However, by then, her tweet had gone viral with BJP was also targeting Pednekar for using objectionable language.

Following the controversy, Pednekar clarified that the tweet was made by a party worker and not by her.

“I was at a function in BKC and my phone was with one of the party workers. The phone was not locked… so, after reading the question, the party worker posted an offensive tweet. When I saw the tweet, I realised the mistake and immediately deleted it. I do not use such language,” she claimed.

She added, “I have warned the party worker not to do such things in the future.”
