Realtor ‘commits suicide’, police look for motive

According to police, the victim, Suraj Parmar, is a director with Cosmos Construction company in Thane.

The Kasar Wadavli police have initiated investigations into the suicide of a leading real estate developer from Thane, who allegedly shot himself with his licensed firearm at his ongoing construction site on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the victim, Suraj Parmar, is a director with Cosmos Construction company in Thane.

“Parmar was at his construction site in Kasar Wadavli when he shot himself through the right side of his neck in one of the flats in the building. The sound of gunshot alerted employees, who rushed into the flat and took him to Fortis Hospital in Mulund, where he was declared brought dead,” said an officer with Thane police. The officer added that the weapon Parmar used is a licensed one, and he would often carry the weapon with him.
“The people that Parmar interacted with do not recall seeing any signs of depression or anything unusual in his behaviour. We will be speaking to his family once they are in a position to give a statement,” the officer said.

Police are now going through Parmar’s call records to find out if he received a call or text message that might have triggered the extreme step. Inquiries are also underway with his family and friends about any personal problems, as well as with his employees to find out whether he was facing any business-related problems.
