IPS officer Rashmi Shukla
IPS OFFICER Rashmi Shukla who had been sent on leave by the Maharashtra government, following a directive by the Election Commission, was reappointed as Maharashtra DGP late Monday.
Sanjay Kumar Verma was the state DGP in the interim while Shukla was on leave. As per an order issued by the state home department, Shukla was reappointed as DGP since the election period was over.
Shukla is known to enjoy a good rapport with BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis whom she met on Monday. She is likely to take charge on Tuesday and Verma will again be DG Legal and Technical, the post he held before being appointed DGP.
