Rakhi Sawant wants to join RPI

Sawant fought the recently held Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North West and polled just 1,995 votes.

Starlet Rakhi Sawant met Republican Party of India leader Ramdas Athavale at a city hotel Friday and  expressed her desire to join his party.

“Sawant has expressed her desire to work for RPI on issues related to Dalits and the downtrodden,”Athavale said, adding that no formal decision on taking her in the party had been taken as yet.

Sawant fought the recently held Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North West and polled just 1,995 votes. She fought on the ticket of Rashtriya Aam Party, which was floated just ahead of polls.
