Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, while offering them all necessary information besides easy availability of seeds and fertilizers, has urged farmers to take into account IMD rainfall predictions before sowing seeds in their farms. The Met department has already predicted a poor rainfall across the country.
On Thursday, the second day of his tour to drought-affected regions of Beed and Osmanabad in Marathwada, he said, “The government will provide all necessary information along with seeds and fertilizers to farmers across the state.” He urged farmers not to panic, as there is enough stock of seeds and fertilizers. He said directives have been issued to ensure they are available to farmers easily, and at the stated price. In Beed and Osmanabad districts, he hopped villages to meet families of farmers who had committed suicide and assured them government compensation and other help.
