Police arrest courier who delivered drugs to constable Kalokhe

An official said that Satish’s role in the last month’s haul of 114 kg of mephedrone was also being investigated.

The Satara Police arrested wanted drug peddler Shashikala Patankar’s younger son Satish Patankar earlier this week. Satish, the police said, was nabbed for transporting 12 kg of mephedrone to arrested constable Dharmaraj Kalokhe.

According to the police, Satish held was held in Mumbai on April 15. This development comes more than a month after Kalokhe was held in his native village in Satara with 114 kg of mephedrone on March 9. A day later, 12 kg of the drug was found in his cupboard at Marine Drive police station.

“Shashikala Patankar had given Satish 12 kg of mephedrone and told him to give the drugs to Kalokhe. He acts as a transporter of drugs for his mother,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police and Mumbai Police spokesperson Dhananjay Kulkarni.

An official from Satara Police said that Satish’s role in the last month’s haul of 114 kg of mephedrone was also being investigated.
