The Nirmal Nagar police Wednesday arrested two men for allegedly raping a minor on August 24. The police are on the lookout for a third suspect,also a minor who was a friend of the victim,for abetting the crime.
The victim told that her 16-year-old female friend,a class IX drop-out,had introduced her to Akhtar Mansoori (49),a tailor. On July 2,the friend took her to Mansoori’s residence where he allegedly raped her.
Officers said on August 24,the victim went to Mansoori’s residence when he allegedly spiked her drink and raped her when she fell unconscious. She said she went to his residence as he had threatened her with dire consequences if she did not visit him. The following morning,Mansoori dropped the victim at the residence of Vijay Kumar (21),a launderer,who also allegedly raped her.
Meanwhile,the victim’s father registered a missing person’s complaint with the Nirmal Nagar police.
The police said the victim reached a hospital Tuesday,when the doctors there alerted the police that she had been subjected to a sexual assault. She told her story to police,after which a case was registered against Mansoori,Kumar and the victim’s friend.
The police said the victim’s medical examination report was awaited.
