Piyush Goyal gives five guarantees to North Mumbai constituency

The first point of Goyal’s Pancha Sutra Guarantee addresses the critical issue of slum development. The objective is not only to redevelop slums but also to enhance the living conditions of slum dwellers through a comprehensive package.

This redevelopment will ensure that residents are resettled in the same locations where they currently reside. He highlighted the importance of improving essential services such as water supply, civic facilities and fuel supply to elevate the overall living standards.

The second point focuses on health and education. Goyal promises to establish a super multi-specialty hospital in North Mumbai and provide additional medical facilities. Furthermore, he assures that arrangements will be made to offer quality education to all residents within the constituency.

The third point involves the development of local tourism. Goyal noted that North Mumbai boasts of numerous tourist spots, including Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Pagoda, Gorai Chowpatty and several beaches in Malad. He plans to enhance these locations to attract more tourists to North Mumbai.

The fourth point is the improvement of roads and transportation. Recognizing North Mumbai as one of the city’s outermost areas, Goyal aims to reduce traffic congestion significantly.

Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, several initiatives, such as the introduction of AC local trains and the commencement of metro services, have already benefited Mumbaikars, he said. He plans to work with traffic experts to implement all possible measures to eliminate traffic jams and ensure quicker commute.

The fifth and final point addresses enhanced rail connectivity. With North Mumbai poised for significant development, a robust railway system connecting it to other parts of the city is essential. Goyal mentioned that the approval to connect Borivali with the Konkan Railway and the extension of harbour services up to Borivali will facilitate this growth.
