When Polly Esther’s shut down a couple of years ago,it came as a shock to the regulars. Polly Esther’s has been a significant part of south Mumbai’s nightlife. SoBoites now have reason to celebrate. The nightclub is back with a swanky new avatar and this time around, will remain open till 3am. The popular nightclub, situated on the first floor of Gordon House,Colaba, was expected to officially reopen on Friday.

Polly Esther’s shut down in 2011 and licencing issues were rumoured to be the cause. The owners, however, say that there was a shift in management, which saw the parent company Mars move away from Polly Esther’s. However, they have now bought the property back.

“In the past,Polly Esther’s used to be everyone’s favourite nightclub and the place to be seen in. We plan to ensure that the legacy continues. For the moment,we open every Friday and Saturday and soon we should be open on other days of the week,” says Bruno Loosli,CEO,Mars Enterprises. DJ Punit is going to be the in-house DJ dishing out R&B,hip hop, house (commercial),UK Punjabi,EDM,and retro dance numbers.
