Painter arrested for stealing diamond jewellery, cash from actor Poonam Dhillon’s house in Mumbai

The Mumbai police arrested a painting worker on Monday for allegedly stealing ornaments and cash from actor Poonam Dhillon’s house at Pali Hill in Bandra, the police said on Wednesday.

According to the police, Dhillon’s manager, Sandesh Chaudhary, 39, on Sunday filed a complaint with the Khar police station, claiming the actor’s diamond jewellery, and Indian and foreign currencies were missing from her cupboard in her Bandra West house. Her son discovered the theft, as per the complaint.

During an investigation led by Senior Inspector Sanjeev Dhumal, the police learned that three painters had visited Dhillon’s house for painting work.

During their questioning, one of them, Sameer Salim Ansari, 37, gave vague answers, leading to suspicion about him. He was subjected to sustained interrogation, leading to him confessing to his crime, the police said.
