In the second national Lok Adalat held on Sunday by the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA), over 4.08 lakh cases were disposed of across the state.
According to information provided by the authority, till 6 pm, around 4.08 lakh pre-litigation and pending cases were settled in Lok Adalats across the state.
A special drive was also carried out over the past five days where 49,674 cases were disposed of.
Among the notable cases was one before the Mumbai Motor Accident Claims Tribunal where the settlement amount was Rs 3.10 crore and cheques handed over to the parties by the Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Mumbai.
A similar settlement before the MACT in Jalgaon was for Rs 53 lakh.
A five-year-old pending civil suit in Jalgaon was also one of the cases disposed of during the Lok Adalat where one of the parties attended it from Dubai in virtual mode. Officials said more than 230 matrimonial disputes were settled.
The first Lok Adalat this year was held in February where around 11.95 cases were settled. The next one is scheduled on September 9.
