Assistant station officer at Shivaji Park, Rohan More said, “I know him from the time I joined service. We tried a lot to save him on Saturday but our efforts have gone in vain.” More, along with the other fire officials, had pulled Amin out of the debris after the structure collapsed because of a massive fire. His legs were stuck in the crumbling structure, and fire officials had to use a JCB machine to break the walls and extricate Amin.
Deputy Fire Officer V N Panigrahi said, “We prayed every day for him. We were constantly in touch with the doctors to know his condition. We have lost a real braveheart.”
