In other games,Soccer School of Chincholi recorded an identical 2-0 margin of victory against Crusaders SC. Sagar Amre and Avinesh Pandey were on target for the winners,

In an evenly contested encounter Black Panthers and Rising Star shared honours in a 2-2 draw. Raj Kumar Pandya and Sandeep Thanveer scored for the Panthers,while Aditya Sharma netted a brace for Rising Star.

Companeroes win three on trot

Companeroes SC trounced Zears FC 3-0 to score their third successive victory in a pool-D league match of the 9th Bandra West Football League conducted by the Bandra West Football Association under the auspices of the Mumbai District Football Association and played at the Dr Norman Lewis Supari Talao municipal grounds. A K Chimbai and Chimbai SC too finished on winning notes. A K Chimbai thrashed Prabhat Strikers 11-0,while Chimbai SC also tamed their opponents Classico FC 4-1.

Top cueists for Shyam Shroff snooker

Two time Asian champion Yasin Merchant and India No 2 Kamal Chawla are among the country’s top cueists who will feature in the Shyam Shroff Memorial All India Open Invitation Snooker Tournament,sponsored by United Phosphorus that will be organised and hosted by Khar Gymkhana from July 25 to August 10.

Also in the fray will be the last edition’s runner-up Shahbaaz Khan of PSPB,Faisal Khan of Railways,India junior No 1 Laxman Rawat of Delhi,Maharashtra No 1 Hasan Badami,Bombay Gymkhana winner Sourav Kothari and India No 7 Manan Chandra,both of PSPB,India junior No 2 and senior No 5 Himanshu Jain of Hyderabad along with national 6-Red champion Shivam Arora of Bihar. The best-of-five frames qualifying rounds will be held from July 25 to August 4 where four players will enter the main draw of 24 which will include 16 elite cueists and four players from hosts Khar Gymkhana.
