A group of occupants of a major redevelopment scheme proposed in Versova have filed a review petition in the Bombay High Court challenging the agreement of redevelopment.
The scheme,Aaramnagar,comprises 357 structures spread over 16 ha in Andheri (West).
In October 2010,the court had dismissed a petition filed by five tenants who claimed that the project does not fulfil the mandatory 70 per cent consent condition. According to them,200 out of 357 occupants are opposed to the redevelopment project.
However,arguing for the state government,G W Mattos said the consent of 75 per cent of the occupants had earlier been brought before the court. He added that under the Development Control Regulations,consent once given cannot be withdrawn.
The court has now asked the MCZMA and MHADA to file replies explaining their stand by Tuesday.
