Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray Tuesday called for a review of the Atrocities Act in view of complaints its provisions were being misused.
“If the law is being misused, then it should be revamped. If people are misusing this law, then it is time it is set aside. Why do we need laws on the basis of caste and religion,” said Thackeray, addressing party workers.
He also spoke about the need for removing reservations. “I have always believed reservations should only be given on the basis of economic considerations,” he said.
