‘Need for uniformity in water meter rates’

Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan has said there was a need to ensure uniformity in water meter rates across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Admiting that different rates were being charged in Mumbai,Navi Mumbai etc,he said municipal corporations were floating tendering and awarding contracts. There was a need to develop a system to bring uniformity in the rates and the government would also develop a rate contract system.
