NCP leader and former home minister RR Patil’s condition is critical and has been put on life support system in suburban Lilavati Hospital. Party’s national spokesperson Nawab Malik told the Indian Express, “He is critical but doctors are trying to keep him stable. He is on life support system as of now.”
While the hospital remained tight-lipped on his present condition, sources said that Patil suffered from multiple organ failure. He was transferred to Lilavati hospital two months ago for treatment of oral cancer. Previously, he was undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital for cancer.
A hospital source confirmed that he has been undergoing regular chemotherapy sessions for treating it.
In December, Patil also suffered from a cardiac arrest and underwent angiography at city-based Bombay Hospital.
Jayant patil and Sharad Pawar are on their way to meet NCP leader R R Patil. Supriya Sule, Ajit Pawar, Ashok Chavan also visited the minister.
