
Mumbai News: An explosion on-board Navy’s Ranvir-class destroyer INS Ranvir left three naval personnel dead injuring 11 on Tuesday. The Navy said that a board of inquiry has been instituted into the incident.
The Navy said in a statement, “In an unfortunate incident today at Naval Dockyard Mumbai, three naval personnel succumbed to injuries caused by an explosion in an internal compartment onboard INS Ranvir.”
Mumbai on Tuesday reported 6,149 Covid-19 infections. The city saw surge in Covid-19 cases as it reported 193 cases more than yesterday. Active cases count in the city is 44,084 and number of deaths due to the infection was seven.
A special court head by R N Rokade on Tuesday rejected the default bail plea of Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh. Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a supplementary chargesheet against Deshmukh on December 2, 2021. He was arrested on November 2 by ED and was prime beneficiary of alleged bribes taken Sachin Waze.
