Maha Mumbai Metro has achieved the highest share of WhatsApp ticketing among all metro systems in the country, with 19 per cent of all tickets reserved through the messaging app, officials said in a statement.

Introduced in October 2024, the WhatsApp ticketing system has swiftly become a preferred choice for Mumbai’s metro commuters. The user-friendly and quick ticketing solution is part of the broader digital strategy rolled out by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to make public transport more seamless, accessible and environmentally sustainable.
