Mumbai: Jeweller found dead in Parel

According to police, the jeweller had amassed a lot of debt. It was found that he had borrowed at least Rs 40 lakh from just one lender and was unable to pay back, said the police.

A jeweller allegedly shot himself with his licensed revolver inside his car in Parel on Friday. The police said preliminary investigation has reveled that the deceased, Devendra Jain (39), was bankrupt. “He had amassed a lot of debt. We have found that he had borrowed at least Rs 40 lakh from just one lender and was unable to pay back,” said an officer.
