Mumbai Drug Bust: ‘Fake’ election card found in suspended cop Kalokhe’s locker

The card has the constable’s photo affixed to it but is in the name of arrested drug peddler Shashikala Patanakar’s late husband, Ramesh Kamlakar.

The Mumbai police claims to have found a “fake” election commission card in suspended constable Dharmraj Kalokhe’s office locker.

The card has the constable’s photo affixed to it but is in the name of arrested drug peddler Shashikala Patanakar’s late husband, Ramesh Kamlakar. The fake election card aspect was cited by police to oppose Kalokhe’s bail plea in the Special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act Court. The police, opposing Kalokhe’s bail, said “it is a new aspect to investigate”.

Kalokhe, who allegedly had an affair with drug peddler Shashikala alias Baby Patankar, was arrested after 112 kg mephedrone was found in his house in Lonavla and 12 kg of the drug was allegedly seized from his locker at Marine Drive police station. The Crime Branch had arrested Patankar, and five other policemen in the case.
