A 63-YEAR-OLD man was convicted and sentenced to life-imprisonment for raping a 17-year-old girl. The accused worked as a security guard in a building in which the victim’s parents worked as labourers. In 2014, the accused had employed the victim to wash utensils and clothes at his home.
The victim said in her deposition that one day the accused put his hand around her. He subsequently began sexually abusing her and raped her thrice. The incident came to light when the victim began experiencing stomach ache. It was found the victim was pregnant. The prosecution had submitted the DNA report which matched with the accused.
