A 40-year-old real estate agent allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his residence in Dahisar. The deceased, Amol Francis Vaity, allegedly sent a suicide note to a friend minutes before he committed suicide. In the note, Vaity claimed that he took the extreme step as he was in debt and due to harassment from loan and credit card recovery agents.
The MHB police has registered a case of accidental death. The police said that Vaity lived with his family in a one-floor bungalow at Amol Nevas in Dahisar.
“He usually went for a morning walk. On Thursday, he went for a walk and after he came back, he hanged himself,” said an officer. His wife found him in the morning and informed the family. They rushed Vaity to Babasaheb Ambedkar hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
“He has also named an individual in the suicide note. Vaity claimed that this individual, along with other recovery agents, came to his residence and harassed him. We are investigating the matter and depending on the our findings, we will register a case,” said a police officer.
