Mumbai: 40-year-old murders brother-in-law in front of his wife, children

The accused, Zakir Shaikh, allegedly slit the throat of Tanveer with a kitchen knife.

The Pant Nagar police are on the lookout for a 40-year-old man who allegedly murdered his brother-in-law in front of his wife and children Sunday night over a family dispute.

The accused, Zakir Shaikh, allegedly slit the throat of Tanveer (34) with a kitchen knife. Police said Zakir and his wife, who live in an apartment in Kamraj Nagar in Ghatkopar east, had been fighting over a property issue in the family for over five years.

“The incident took place around 10.30 pm. Besides the couple, their two children, both teenagers, and Tanveer was there. Tanveer was attacked when he intervened in the quarrel between his sister and Zakir,” said a police officer.
