THE Navghar police station recorded a case of break-in and theft on Monday after Rs 2,000 cash was found stolen from outside Mulund railway station. According to Senior Inspector Madhav More, the ticket reservation office outside the station has four counters.

The reservation office was shut by 2 pm on Sunday and when railway officials reported for work on Monday at 7 am, they found cash stolen from the counters, the police said, adding the break-in possibly happened from the back lane of the office where toilets are located. “The toilet window was broken. The entry is suspected to be from there,” More said.

Cash, in lose change and coins, totalling to Rs 2,000 was stolen from the four counters. Since the office has no CCTV cameras, the police were questioning locals. “Investigation is on. We have not arrested anyone so far,” More added.
