(Express Archives) The second day of the strike by employees of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) led to significant disruptions in bus services across the state.

The impact was particularly severe in the Marathwada and Khandesh regions. Of the 251 depots, 94 were completely closed, while 92 others operated with reduced services.
The strike, which began at the start of Ganeshotsav festival, has caused considerable inconvenience for travelers heading to Konkan and other destinations. Many passengers experienced delays or were forced to return home due to lack of available bus services.
The employees’ union is protesting against salary disparities with other state government departments and demanding the payment of arrears for dearness and house rent allowances from 2018 to 2024.
The MSRTC, in an effort to mitigate the disruptions, deployed 1,000 additional buses on Thursday, including 306 from Mumbai, 336 from Thane, and 150 from Palghar.
Meanwhile, MSRTC has urged its employees to resume on duty otherwise district officers have been directed to lodge FIR against those supporting the strike.
