MSRDC to mitigate rockfall, landslide risks at Mumbra bypass hillock
The projected cost for this initiative is estimated at Rs 115.59 crore, and the selected agency is entrusted with completing the work within 18 months and maintaining it for 10 years, as per the MSRDC.
As per the MSRDC, the bidders are required to submit their bids by February 23 at 3 pm, with the bid opening scheduled for February 27. Additionally, participants must furnish a bid security in the form of a bank guarantee amounting to Rs 57.79 lakh.
The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is gearing up to implement protective measures under the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) mode, to mitigate the risks of rockfall and landslides at the Mumbra bypass hillock in Thane district.

The Mumbra bypass plays a crucial role and is part of the National Highway network, encompassing NH-3 (Nashik highway) and NH-4 (the old Mumbai Pune road). The highway serves as a vital link for daily heavy traffic, connecting various cities and states, including Nashik, Pune, Gujarat, Bengaluru etc, to Bhiwandi and Jawaharlal Nehru Port. It also caters to traffic of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
