Railway officials in charge of getting the Oshiwara railway station constructed and operational are upset with the civic body.

The Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) will now once again write to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) asking for a final deadline to complete the Railway Over Bridge (ROB) work at the proposed Oshiwara railway station.

Senior officials said that the station is almost ready and within a month’s time, the final work of the station premises can be completed. However, MRVC has said that the BMC has failed for about five years to complete work on the railway overbridge connecting east and west sides of the station for vehicular traffic.

This letter to the BMC is by way of setting a final deadline with MRVC senior officials keen to complete work on Oshiwara before the next monsoon.

The upcoming flyover will replace a level crossing used by motorists and pedestrians every day to cross over from one side of the station to the other at Oshiwara . At present , there are two level crossings in the vicinity that are used by motorists.
