The Government Railway Police (GRP), who are investigating the murder of the 16-year-old girl whose body was found in a suitcase at Talegaon railway station near Pune, suspect that the mastermind of the girl’s murder could be a person who was involved in financial crimes, about which the girl had come to know.
The girl, a resident of Wadala, was killed on Tuesday at a Wadala flat, which she shared with one of the suspects, Rahul Ravindra Barai (21).
The girl, who was allegedly having an affair with another suspect Vishnu Santosh Jugdar (31), had reportedly left her house about a fortnight ago.
On May 7, GRP hadfound a locked suitcase from platform two at the Talegaon railway station, which had the body of the girl stuffed in it.
A GRP officer said a team of officers who visited Mumbai on Sunday gathered enough evidence that points to the involvement of suspects in financial fraud.
