Man kills self,blames wife,her lover in video; duo held

The accused allegedly harassed Sunil Ughade when he asked his wife to return to him.

A 38-year-old man allegedly shot a 20-minute video clip before he committed suicide in his Mahalaxmi home on Monday,the police said. In the clip,the police said,he blamed his estranged wife and her lover. Both have been arrested.

According to the police,Sunil Ughade,who was employed as a driver with a travel company,allegedly hanged himself at his home at 11 pm on Monday. His daughter Kajal lodged a complaint at Agripada police station,alleging that her mother Anuradha Ughade (36) and her lover Abdulla Kadar Shaikh (38) had driven Sunil to suicide.

Both have been remanded in police custody till October 11.

“Sunil and Anuradha had been married for the past 20 years. However,for the past seven years,she had been living with Abdulla,a taxi driver. Sunil was trying to convince Anuradha to return. However,she and Abdulla would harass him and tell him to stay away,” said Kishor Baviskar,senior inspector.

He added,“We have sent the video clip for forensic analysis.”
