The deceased, identified as Prakash Shinde, had gone to answer nature’s call when he fell to his death
A 55-YEAR-OLD man who was suffering from dysentery fell from the 18th floor into the elevator in a Wadala-based building.
The deceased, identified as Prakash Shinde, had gone to answer nature’s call when he fell to his death. An Accidental Death Report has been filed by the police in the case.
An officer from RAK Marg police station said that Shinde had gone to stay at his sister’s house a couple of days ago in Wadala. He was reportedly suffering from dysentery and wanted to go to the washroom. However, since it was already occupied, he came near the lift area where lift work was going on.
An official said that he defecated near the pit and while he was getting up, he lost his balance and fell into the pit. A fire brigade team was called that rescued him. He was rushed to the KEM hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
An officer said the family members did not suspect any foul play and they have filed an accidental death report in the matter.
