Man falls from building,dies

An 81-year-old man fell to his death from a fourth floor apartment in the Churchgate area on Monday morning.

An 81-year-old man fell to his death from a fourth floor apartment in the Churchgate area on Monday morning. According to the police,Dady Adenwalla was a former trainer at the Mahalaxmi Race Course and served as a member on its appeal board.

An officer from the Azad Maidan police station said Adenwalla stayed with his unmarried daughter Shirin (47),who runs a catering firm,and six servants.

“Shirin told us that her father had undergone a cataract operation few days ago and his vision was blurred. He used to water the plants in the balcony every morning. She said he may have slipped while watering the plants,” said a police officer.

The police said they have not found any suicide note. “Prima-facie,this does not appear to be a case of suicide. We have registered an accidental death report (ADR) and are probing the case further,” the police officer said.

The body has been sent to J J Hospital for a post-mortem.
