The police are now in the process of booking the accused under sections of Protection Of Children Against Sexual Offences Act (POCSOA).
In an unusual move, the Mumbai Police has booked a 30-year-old man after he threatened an eight-year-old girl with lewd remarks against her mother.
The man was arrested on Sunday evening by the Malwani police after he barged into the house of his neighbour and allegedly mouthed obscenities to the child.
The police are now in the process of booking the accused under sections of Protection Of Children Against Sexual Offences Act (POCSOA).

According to the police, the accused works for a private company in Malad and had been making lewd gestures to the girl’s mother since the past few months. While the woman had ignored him all along, on Sunday the accused went to the woman’s house in an inebriated state and misbehaved with the child. The woman approached the police and registered a complaint. In her complaint, the 32-year-old woman has said that on Sunday she was at a neighbour’s house when she noticed the man walk into her house where her eight-year-old daughter was playing and was alone.
“The man had consumed alcohol. He just barged into the house. I ran inside as I suspected that he would harm my daughter. I went to my house when the man went up to my daughter. He then spoke real ugly and made lewd comments about me to the small child,” the woman said in her complaint. “Based on the complaint of the woman and other witnesses, we have arrested him for outraging the modesty of a woman,” said Sub Inspector M Kandhare of Malwani police station.
