Man arrested for raping 21-yr-old stepdaughter

GOREGAON police Monday arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly raping his stepdaughter on two occasions.

GOREGAON police Monday arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly raping his stepdaughter on two occasions. The 21-year-old victim’s mother registered a police complaint against her husband on April 9. The accused subsequently fled from their house,police said.

The accused and the victim’s 37-year-old mother married in 2005. The victim,who was living with her father in Pune till 2004,moved in with her mother at her Bhagat Singh Nagar home after she remarried.

“The accused raped the victim in October last year and in January,” said senior inspector Arun Jadhav. The accused called the victim’s phone on Sunday and asked her to “settle the matter outside”,police said. Police laid a trap and arrested the accused.

Minor raped,cops look for neighbour

A CASE of rape of a 16-year-old girl from Goregaon is being probed by Oshiwara Police after the Pune police transferred the case. Oshiwara police said the girl and her 21-year-old neighbour in Goregaon were in a relationship over the past few months. When the girl’s mother learnt she was pregnant,she took her to an ashram in Pune,police said. “On Sunday,the girl told her mother about the neighbour. She registered a complaint at a Pune police station,” said senior inspector Dilip Rupawate.
