Maharashtra Transport starts cleanliness campaign

Commuters have often complained of the lack of enough cleanliness measures taken by the State Transport.

The State Transport (ST) on Sunday undertook a cleanliness campaign across 255 bus stops and 468 bus depots in the state. The campaign will include cleaning of bus stops, eatery stalls as well as the ST premises.

Through the use of promotional messages, the ST aims to propagate the importance of cleaning to workers and commuters. Many NGOs and youth organisations have also joined in to help, claimed an ST official.

Commuters have often complained of the lack of enough cleanliness measures taken by the State Transport.

Expressing how this method can entice commuters to use public transport more, Abhijit Bhosale, Chief PRO, State Transport, said, “With this, we hope to reinstate passenger’s faith in our services.”
