After UP, FIR against Yati Narsinghanand in Thane for hate speech

The controversial head priest of the Dasna Devi temple Yati Narsinghanand was booked by Thane Police Sunday over an alleged hate speech delivered at Hindi Bhawan in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on September 29.

Yati Narsinghanand has also been booked by Uttar Pradesh Police over his speech at the event. The Indian Express reported on Saturday that Narsinghanand has been detained by the Uttar Pradesh police, along with his aides.

The case in Thane was filed following a complaint by the president of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).

The FIR charges Narsinghanand with promoting enmity between different groups, imputations prejudicial to national integration, deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings, and intentionally uttering words to wound the religious sentiments of another person.
