Shrikant Shinde, the Shiv Sena candidate from Kalyan Lok Sabha seat, on Tuesday took a break from campaigning to savour the hot and spicy misal pav in his constituency. Accompanied by party workers, Shinde, the sitting MP from Kalyan, said, “Misal pav is the local snack. I am the son of CM Eknath Shinde. Not everybody can digest the spicy hot misal, but being the son of soil, I am used to it. There are others who settle for sandwich and cold coffee,” he said. The sarcasm was targeted at senior leaders of Shiv Sena (UBT).
Now Congress spokesperson quits
Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Raju Waghmare is the latest to quit the party and join the ruling Shiv Sena led by CM Eknath Shinde. Waghmare, who has been working on the issue of redevelopment of BDD chawls, had a change of heart and joined the ruling alliance. Waghmare’s well-wishers had asked him to start preparations for upcoming Assembly polls, but it seems the ‘redevelopment woos’ were more pressing for Waghmare as he has finally decided to quit the party.
Mungantiwar in cross-fire
Maharashtra Congress has moved Maharashtra’s Chief Electoral Officer against BJP candidate from Chandrapur, Sudhir Mungantiwar, for his “objectionable” statement regarding Congress and women. Congress has alleged that Mungantiwar not only spread misinformation and tried to polarise communities it also lowered the dignity of women. Mungantiwar is, however, claiming that part of his speech was taken out of context and he has not erred.
The battle for Madha seat

The former colleagues of NCP-SP chief Sharad Pawar are planning to make their next move while BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis has already held a meeting with a key family member from Mohite-Patil clan.
