Maharashtra: Now, housing society members can file complaints on web portal
The platform has options for 24 types of complaints commonly raised by housing society members that include share certificates, misappropriation or misapplication of funds, failure to conduct elections and failure to convene general body meetings among others.
At present, individuals seeking to file complaints of cooperative housing societies have to visit the registrar’s office in person. (File) Cooperative housing society members now have an online facility to file complaints with Maharashtra Cooperation department recently having launched a user-friendly website and mobile application called Sahakar Samvad.
As per an official from the registrar’s office in Mumbai, individuals filing complaints on this new platform will be required to pay a nominal fee of Rs 50 for each complaint. The platform has options for 24 types of complaints commonly raised by housing society members that include share certificates, misappropriation or misapplication of funds, failure to conduct elections and failure to convene general body meetings among others.
At present, individuals seeking to file complaints of cooperative housing societies have to visit the registrar’s office in person. The new online platform is designed to streamline this process, allowing both complainants and officials to conveniently track the progress and status of each complaint, along with actions taken in response.
The online facility will facilitate around 1.15 lakh cooperative housing societies in Maharashtra, eliminating the need for members to visit offices and also reducing paperwork.
