Maharashtra Politics Highlights (July 16): Newly appointed Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) ministers including Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar on Sunday afternoon arrived at Y B Chavan centre to meet NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Talking about the meeting, Ajit Pawar-led NCP leader Praful Patel said that they had “come to take blessings of Sharad Pawar”. “We requested Sharad Pawar to keep the party united and guide us in near future. He did not reply to this,” he added.
Meanwhile, five minor boys, in the age group of 12 to 16 years, entered the Marve Creek waters in Mumbai on Sunday morning and started drowning following which two of them were rescued while search was on for the three others. The incident took place around 9.30 am when the boys ventured into the creek in Malad area, fire officials said.
🌧️ Here’s the weather report for today: The maximum temperature in the city will hover around 29°C while the minimum temperature is expected to be around 25°C , IMD predicted. As per the weather agency, the city will witness a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain today. Meanwhile, on Saturday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a ‘green’ alert for today (Sunday). IMD scientists told The Indian Express that the intensity of the rain will pick up further in the coming week with the weather bureau sounding a ‘yellow’ alert in Mumbai and Thane from Monday (July 17).
