Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde inaugurates Shilphata flyover, set to decongest traffic in Thane

The flyover built by The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is 749 metres in length. With an estimated cost of Rs 45.68 crore, the project features a dual carriageway, offering three lanes each for Panvel and Thane-bound traffic. While the Panvel-bound flyover is now operational, the Thane-bound side of the flyover is expected to be opened within the next two months.

The initiative, conceived by MMRDA to address traffic congestion in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, targets areas like Kalyan Phata Junction, which experiences heavy influx of traffic everyday.

Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, Commissioner, MMRDA, emphasised the project’s significance in reducing fuel consumption and easing traffic congestion, aligning with MMRDA’s vision for a sustainable future.
