Notes from the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week

For someone who’s impressed both press and merchandisers with almost every collection he’s come out with,Varun Bahl’s latest outing at the Wills India Fashion Week is a bit of a surprise. His lovely dresses that women from Tokyo,Milan and Mumbai so adore, saw a marked change from his signature sartorial elegance. So much so they’re less of Varun and more British maverick designer John Galliano. Bahl’s use of frills and flounces, print style and colour palette are very Galliano. His ruched yolk and pleats reminds us of another au courant It-designer Gareth Pugh.

“This is the new me,” says Bahl, about his ultra romantic and beautifully presented line.
