Less than two weeks after moving the Bombay High Court,Nadir Shah Patel, father of murdered Bollywood actress Laila Khan filed an application on Monday seeking to withdraw his petition.

Patel had demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the murders of Laila Khan, her mother Shelina, three siblings and another relative.

On Friday, the court had said,it cannot order a CBI probe merely because the case involves a celebrity, and asked Patel to provide evidence to show inefficiency on part of the police. Patel’s application seeking permission to withdraw the petition will now be heard on Tuesday.

Shah had filed a kidnapping complaint with the Oshiwara police on July 5. Later,on July 10,the Mumbai Police Crime Branch discovered six skeletons — believed to be of Laila and her five relatives — at their family farmhouse in Igatpuri after Pervez Tak,the prime accused in the case, allegedly told the police that he killed the six persons and later set the farmhouse on fire.
