Wednesday evening,Bandras Turner road saw one luxury car parked after the other in front of a sprawling seven-floor building. It would not have made for a remarkable sight in this posh Mumbai neighbourhood dotted with fancy restaurants and designer stores had it not been for the celebrities who made a beeline for the building that houses Bandra 190. A host of celebrities, including Salman Khan,Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan,Karan Johar and Sridevi, were at the launch of the new luxury concept multi-level designer store by Sussanne Roshan,Maheep Kapoor and Seema Khan.
This lifestyle and fashion concept store is a joint effort by the three women, all of whom have strong ties with Bollywood Maheep and Seema are married to Sanjay Kapoor and Sohail Khan respectively whereas Sussanne recently separated from her actor husband Hrithik Roshan.
The glam ladies have one more thing in common their designing background, which they have put to use to launch the new store. Needless to say, then, that among the brands on sale at the store are decor items from Sussannes own The Charcoal Project,Maheep Kapoors festive collection of jewellery,Seema Khans mix of Indian pret, bridal and western wear. Other famous labels, such as the French footwear label Christian Louboutin, will also feature here. The store will also house Le Mill Edit where clients can interact with stylists,a concept from Le Mills signature store in Byculla.
Likening the Bandra 190 experience to that of a jewel box, which you can explore and experience,Sussanne said,It is a destination where a customer can get everything for his/her home, wardrobe or jewellery under one roof. It is reflective of the shabby chic that one sees in todays lifestyles.
Her appearance on Wednesday evening was Sussannes first after last weeks announcement of her separation. Instead of dodging the questions, the 35-year-old appeared composed as the media bombarded her with questions on the subject. She answered them and thanked the media for attending the launch, before she took her guests on a tour of the store.
