The earnestness with which Hrithik Roshan waited near the entrance of the multiplex auditorium and played host to the media attending the trailer launch of Krrish 3 best suggests how important the film is to Hrithik, and the Roshans at large. “I love you, please say that again,” said a visibly nervous Hrithik, when a journalist lauded the trailer at the press-interaction after its screening.

It was his first appearance in a public event, after his brain surgery. Clearly, much is at stake with Krrish 3 for the Roshans, who have invested much time, money and energy in the last couple of years. While father Rakesh Roshan is the director-producer,the presence of Sunaina Roshan — Hrithik’s sister — on stage confirmed her stake in the film too. The much hyped event, that took place at a suburban multiplex on Monday evening, had Anil Kapoor playing emcee, even as the Krrish 3 team — including Hrithik,Rakesh,Sunaina and Rajesh Roshan, and Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut — came up on stage after the screening. Leading lady Priyanka Chopra, who continues to play Krrish’s love interest in the sequel and is currently abroad for a shoot — put in a video appearance.

Opening with a scene where Rohit (Hrithik) invents a new scientific means to benefit the world, the trailer also offers a peek into the universe darkening with the arrival of the evil genius Kaal (Vivek Oberoi) and a female mutant (Kangna Ranaut). The CGI-heavy action scenes may make it difficult to spot every detail, but the trailer closes with a breathtaking shot of Krrish standing against the backdrop of Mumbai’s Worli-Bandra sea-link.
