Apart from the bigwigs of the Indian fashion industry and the enthusiastic newcomers who are taking part in the upcoming Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2012,get set to catch a glimpse of Japanese fashion on the ramp. On the second last day of the Week,February 18,the Tokyo Fashion Week takes place at WIFW as three Japanese brands will jointly present a fashion show. While Kunihiko Morinaga popular in Japan for his pixelated fashion brings his label Anrealage on to the runway,Suzuki Takayuki brings his collection of organic garments,and fashion label Mintdesigns bring in a range of futuristic and experimental clothes. This is the first time that Japanese designers will be part of this fashion week,as the year 2012 marks 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Japan. Apart from the fashion shows,there will be a seminar on the same day by the famous Japanese graphic designer,Kenya Hara.
Sunil Sethi,President,Fashion Design Council of India,says,Our designers have made a break-through in the Middle Eastern,European and American markets; now its time to attack the Japanese market. The Japanese are the world leaders as far as fashion is concerned because of their cutting-edge designs.
